One of the key benefits of Spinless Burr Medics as a forage crop is its high protein content, which can range from 15-25% depending on the stage of growth and other factors. Being highly palatable, it is a great addition for bulking pastures. Spineless Burr Medics is highly adaptable and able to tolerate a wide range of soil conditions, including variations in soil pH. Best suited to slightly acidic neutral soils, with a pH range of 5.5-6.5.

Cultivation
Spineless Burr Medics are highly palatable to livestock and can be grazed once they have reached a suitable growth stage. However, it is important to avoid overgrazing, which can damage the plants and reduce productivity. It is recommended to graze at around 10-15 cm height and to allow for adequate rest and recovery periods between grazing events.

The recommended sowing rate is between 8-20 kg/ha.
