Lucerne

Lucerne is a deep tap-rooting perennial plant with a high feed quality that is well suited to grazing in sheep, beef, deer, and dairy systems.

Generally, Lucerne requires high soil fertility and has a low tolerance to heavy soils. Lucerne has a very high tolerance to drought conditions and establishes relatively easily provided pests are managed. Lucerne grows well for most of the year through spring, summer and autumn.
